As I was doing my quiet time last week, I sensed God telling me to come back to the reason why I’m here. Here in Singapore, here on earth… I know most of you are like WHOA! So serious, so deep, lighten up, Elle! But discovering your purpose is part of being a Christian. You get empowered to do stuff that you will not be able to do under normal circumstances.
And I am again reminded that:
My FOCUSdetermines my DIRECTION which determines my DESTINY
I can be very shortsighted sometimes and the daunting road ahead of me does not seem very attractive at all. When begin to think, just begin to think of the things that I need to do to achieve my goals and dreams I get exhausted and discouraged. It seems like my dreams are very far off.
I used to be a go-getter. I used to think I was invincible, an attitude that I think is common to people in their early teens.
But Time happens. You question stuff about yourself. Your dreams, your life.
That is why I find the story of Joseph interesting. I have been studying his life for a few days now. Maybe I’ll be able to share stuff I have learned so far.
I forked out this quote from one of my notebooks, if only I can keep my attitude this way:
“I am willing to put myself through anything; temporary pain or discomfort means nothing to me as long as I can see that the experience will take me to a new level. I am interested in the unknown, and the only path to the unknown is through breaking barriers, an often-painful process.” – Diana Nyad
