I was reading this craft book by a crafty chica, she mentioned a few crafty movies that are worth checking out. I realize that I have watched a few and reading about it stirred my memories and incidentally may reveal the generation I belong in!

1. How To Make An American Quilt: First of all two words – JARED LETO *scream* OK, so it was a small role but the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman was one of my first Hollywood crushes,he  came a little bit after Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands – which can be classified as a crafty movie come to think of it!). I was ten or eleven years old when I watched this movie and it really made a big impression on me. Although I don’t remember how it ended, I liked the way the stories of all the women, though different, were pieced together just like the quilt that they made for the young woman who was at a crossroad in her life.

2. Amelie: What’s not to love about this movie? It has everything. :) Scrapbooking, painting, even knitting! I think I would be very comfortable living in this movie, I can be one of the tenants! Watching this made spiked me up to be more creative and altruistic at the same time. “You can’t be a vegetable, even artichokes have hearts” – a very priceless line, but I think we have the Pinoy equivalent, “Kahit ang saging may puso.

3. Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood: I watched the movie when I was too young to really understand and at uni I bought the book (to the encouragement of Ms. April Presto). Aside from the awesome scrapbooking skills that the Yayas had, I totally wanted their headdresses, which made me want to be a Yaya too. :) I mean which girl didn’t belong to a sisterhood?

There were a lot of movies mentioned that I had not watched yet, so it’s time to hit the rentals or maybe just YouTube?
