Bruno Dayan’s Photos: I think underwater photography is awesome, but I can only guess how difficult it was to pull off these shots!

Tara Tarantino: found her stuff via galadarling. First thought about her work, “ohmy, ohmy“! The pretty colors!  Love the City Girl: Los Angeles Collection especially the crucifix/rosary inspired pieces, I recently bought a “rosary” from Forever21 and its my favourite piece for the moment.

☆ Art Dolls: I recently read The Art Doll Chronicles by Catherine Moore, where nine artists collaborated on making art dolls. For someone who never played with dolls as a kid, the closest I ever came to playing one is with Lego people or my brother’s Godzilla action figure, this book pulled on my heartstrings.

Really love the Du Buh Du Dolls, they’re all so pretty and the attention to detail is breathtaking.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Makingis an online novel by Catherynne M. Valente, and it’s just rich with descriptions. There are times when I like to read non-crime stuff, stories that transport you to other lands and quirky characters. I’m only on the first chapter but I’m loving it, how can’t you love a girl with a name like September?

☆ crafting: first of all excuse the lack of photography skills! I’ve been inspired by many people through the blogosphere, there’s mika, sarah, dawn and annie to name a few, so I’ve been crafting a little bit here and there.  As I’ve always mentioned my obsession for hairbands and here are some which I made

from left: boho headband (with sequined paisley shapes) by far my most worn item, it spices up my tee and jeans ensemble. I also love the hint of bling; two-strand red flowerettes headband; two-strand white flowerettes headband; black gingham hairband and blue ribbon headband with white lace trim.

I am planning to make more since I have a lot of materials on hand. My sister keeps complaining though, the headbands I make don’t suit any outfit in her wardrobe, which speaks volumes about how different our styles are but truth be told I really love some of her clothes! The problem is, in our family we DON’T share clothes!

Now for some stuff which I haven’t worn at all, I just love making stuff!

funky kawaii ring

Inspiration struck from a moment of kawaii-ness! Deborah said that she’ll probably buy this for a niece or a younger cousin, and I’d have to agree! Although people might think that this isn’t really my style, I still love it!

stellar earrings

Another example of bad photography skills, but moving on, this is the first earring that I made since uh, three years ago? I love that it’s understated but sophisticated at the same time.

pearl earrings

Perfect for a dinner date! My love for pearls is quite new, on account that when I was eight or nine I read that pearls were for spinsters and that was in my child mind view was the worst fate ever… I mean do you see how people treat their spinster aunts who turn into spinster grandmas (though technically they aren’t grandmas at all)? Anyway, I’ve gotten over both – my fear of wearing pearls and becoming a spinster.

beribboned cherry earrings

I like these earrings a lot, because they’re so cute and fun! Had no opportunity to wear these yet though.

guitar glam earrings

Need I say more, these babies are bound to catch attention!

flower bookmark

Being the bookworm that I am, I just had to make a cute bookmark! Inspired by the kawaii ring that I also made. This one is pure eyecandy!

Aside from these I’m making a few mini-books which I plan to either sell or giveaway. Hope you guys enjoyed the crafted goodies!

Natalie Wood’s House: I want to live where she lives! In fact if I had the money I’d want to keep buying houses so I can decorate them, and I want space lots of space, Singapore has made me claustrophobic!

☆ RAY AUGUST 2009: Remember this post? I succumbed to buying this, consider it as an early birthday treat for myself. And will have to stop this japanese magazine buying hobby only until after I get a new job!

Oh RAY August 2009, how do I love thee?

Let me count the ways…

karina’s on the cover and there are over ten pages of her in cute clothes

toma ikuta “picks” outfits for a girl when going to the beach, a festival, or a bbq

tohoshinki talks about food?

ryo nishikido feature on his new drama

lots of spreads dedicated to accessories and the latest trends

it’s still summer! and more models in yukatas which I find enthralling

dresses!dresses!dresses!

☆ Liked Pastor Phil’s blogpost yesterday, I was just thinking a lot about Pastor’s message last Sunday and really, it dawned on me that there were things that I neglected and some I had totally abandoned. But yes, I’m still walking, and I’ll keep walking.

☆ F.T. Island’s Cross & Change album! This kpop group is made of guys under 20, I couldn’t resist myself and had to listen to them.

I loved listening to 미우나 고우나, 천사와 나무꾼, 꼭은 아니더라도, and 결혼해줘, most of which are happy, upbeat songs especially 결혼해줘 where the refrain goes “marry, marry, marry me”. In retrospect I’ve been listening to songs with “marry me”, like Super Junior M’s Marry U and Ellegarden’s Marry Me…creepy!

Fangirltainment did a more awesome review than my one sentence roundup!

Now, I’m off to give my full ear attention to Tegomass’ new album Tegomass no Uta and Placebo’s Battle For Sun. Have a great week!
